The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), is the world’s oldest and largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

As of today, IEEE has more than 486,000 individual members from over 190 countries, with more than 340 sections in 10 geographic regions worldwide. These sections are grouped into 39 technical societies and 8 technical councils based on their professional interests. IEEE members are engineers, scientists, and allied professionals whose technical interests are rooted in electrical and computer sciences, engineering, and related disciplines. The association organizes over 2,000 conferences each year, curating innovative content across engineering and technology. IEEE is a leading developer of global standards that support essential technologies with portfolio of 1,079 standards, more than 1,090 projects under development, and publishes over 6 million technical articles from the over 200 periodicals.

Mission statement: IEEE's core purpose is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. Vision statement: IEEE will be essential to the global technical community and to technical professionals everywhere, and be universally recognized for the contributions of technology and of technical professionals in improving global conditions.
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), is the United States’ oldest national civil engineering society, founded in 1852 to represent the civil engineering profession worldwide. Today it represents more than 160,000 members in 177 countries and stands at the forefront of planning, designing, constructing, and operating society’s built environment while also protecting and restoring the natural environment.

ASCE advances civil engineering through nine specialty institutes and a strong global network that includes over 90 sections, more than 150 branches. It is the world’s largest publisher of civil engineering content and a leading provider of technical conferences, continuing education programs, and consensus standards that protect public safety and support infrastructure resilience.

Mission statement: Provide essential value to its members and partners, advance civil engineering, and serve the public good by advancing technology, encouraging lifelong learning, promoting professionalism and the profession, developing civil engineering leaders, and advocating infrastructure and environmental stewardship. Vision statement: Civil engineers are global leaders building a better quality of life.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), is one of the world’s largest multidisciplinary engineering institutions, bringing together more than 157,000 engineering and technology professionals across 148 countries. It operates as a global home for engineers and technicians, registered as a charity in England and Wales and in Scotland, with offices in the UK, USA, China, India, and Hong Kong.

The IET supports the profession through a wide portfolio of knowledge and professional services: it publishes over 100 new books, journals, and magazines each year, maintains the Inspec scientific and technical database with over 20 million records, and runs more than 1,500 events annually through almost 100 Local Networks and 22 Technical Networks. The institution also safeguards professional standards by awarding UK Engineering Council registrations (ICTTech, EngTech, IEng, CEng) and accrediting engineering degree programs worldwide.

Mission statement: To inspire, inform and influence the global engineering community, supporting technology innovation to meet the needs of society. Vision statement: Working to engineer a better world.
